Meet & Greet
Scott Aitchison, MP | Shadow Minister for Housing
About Scott
Scott was first elected to be the Member of Parliament for Parry Sound–Muskoka, in the 2019 Canadian federal election. Prior to that, Scott served as the Mayor of Huntsville, Ontario from 2014 to 2019 as well as a municipal Councillor and Deputy Mayor. In fact, when Scott was first elected to Council in 1994 at 21 years of age, he was the youngest individual ever elected in Muskoka.
Scott is a team player with a practical mind and Pierre has put Scott’s formidable skills to work in caucus. Scott is the Shadow Minister of Housing, something he knows a lot about from his work in municipal planning and in the real estate industry.
Scott has also been the Conservative Shadow Minister for Labour and ran for Leader of the party. During the leadership, Scott ran a positive campaign that focused on ideas and he’s incredibly knowledgeable about attitudes across Canada because he criss-crossed the country, listening to people and learning along the way.
In Parliament, Scott is a consensus builder who gets things done. In December 2021, Scott worked to get an extension of bereavement leave for grieving parents who work in federally regulated industries.
